Like Father, Like Son – part 2134

Today was a long day at the end of a long and exciting vacation. We’re all tired and a bit loopy from exhaustion.

Tonight Tate and I are sharing the outer room of our condo. I had the curtains drawn shut and all the lights out. Tate sat up in bed and said “My bed is in some really dark spots. I don’t like sleeping in such dark spots.”

I offer to turn on some lights and he agrees to have me turn on the under-cabinet lights in the kitchenette area. These lights provide a nice, subdued light, just right for going to sleep.

A minute or two after turning on the light, Tate turns to me and says “Dad, can you turn off the lights after I go to sleep? I don’t want them to burn out.”

He is so my son…
